The Old City of Jaffa, Israel

I watched the sun transform into an orange-red globe as it slide down the sky into the Mediterranean. The heat of the day eased into a warm embrace from its suffocating afternoon mood. People began to emerge from their homes and fill the restaurants and cafes. The surfers were still out catching the last waves that glimmered golden as they slipped to the shore. Swimmers defied the signs and do not ‘keep out of the water’. Some just sat at the edge of the water line, legs out stretched in front of them, cooling their bodies and as they rocked slightly off balance as each white topped wave washed around their waist.
